Raw, passionate, and provocative, Nina Simone was one of the most legendary and iconic artists of the 20th Century. She was called The High Priestess of Soul because she was a consummate live performer who could entrance her audience into an almost religious reverie. Her distinctly emotional style had an appeal that crossed race and gender boundaries while blending elements of jazz, gospel, blues, folk, and classical music. But she was as well known for her radical politics and tempestuous presence, on and off the stage, as much as for her prodigious talent,

Lady Justice is said to be blind. But what about a jury of our peers, prosecutors, police officers, and even alleged victims and witnesses? Human. Fallible and corruptible by nature. Academy Award nominated filmmaker Joe Berlinger explores controversial cases of alleged injustice and examines the underbelly and dark corners of the American justice system. Berlinger take us on a suspenseful journey as he doggedly searches for the truth where others have not found it or didn’t care to look.

It was an honor to work on this film. Kathleen Hanna is a personal hero, and I learned invaluable lessons about life and filmmaking during this project.
Dir. by Jonathan Lisecki
Based on Jonathan Lisecki’s award winning short film, Gayby is a hilarious and heartfelt look at life, love, and the pursuit of progeny. I laughed all the way through, from the transcoding to watching the film in the theater.

I started a film blog in the hopes of getting press passes to film festivals. And when I received press accreditation for The Tribeca Film Festival, The LA Film Festival, and The New York Film Festival, I felt like the luckiest girl with a tumblr alive. I saw an incredible amount of films and made a lot of friends. The blog was a success, and I regularly reviewed films and posted gifs.

I met my co-star and co-writer Zane Van Dusen at a femininst punk show and instantly knew we had to write together. For some reason, he seemed to feel the same way. Though we didn't become YouTube stars, his friendship is one of the most important in my life, as you can see by the very grainy video of us performing karoke on New Year's Eve 2012.
